Here you will work at the core of urban development in one of Sweden's fastest-growing cities. To enable this, the municipality is working on a variety of community building projects of different kinds. We are building urban environments and developing rural areas, as well as building robust public transport and station areas. We create spaces for innovative housing projects, for business development, and for community services. You will be part of an area with about 20 economists supporting the various operations of the urban planning administration. Together, we have a broad competence in various accounting issues and the urban planning process. The unit you will belong to currently consists of project economists and project controllers. We work together on a range of urban development projects, such as development projects involving the sale of land and the expansion of infrastructure, including Rosendal and Ulleråker.

We are located in the municipality's new city hall, which has the best commuter location in the city right next to the travel center in Uppsala. We work digitally and based on activities. You also have the option to work part of your time remotely.

Job Description

As a project economist, you will have a lot of contact with project managers for the municipality's development projects. Your role is to assist with financial follow-up and explain financial relationships to non-economists. The role is involved in development projects to support work with budgets, forecasts, and reporting deviations.

You participate in development, where your expertise helps us find effective working methods. In the group of project economists and project controllers, we support each other and constantly strive to develop together in our roles to continuously strengthen financial management and uphold good accounting practices.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in economics or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant for the position. The work requires that you have good knowledge of Microsoft 365. You also need to have good oral and written skills in Swedish.

We would like you to have experience working as a project economist, in project follow-up, and/or in property, infrastructure, or contracting operations.

As a person, you are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You easily grasp and see opportunities with new ideas, methods, and working practices. Furthermore, you have good analytical skills and are adept at seeing connections and solving complex issues and problems. Last but not least, you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner.
